I remember it being a street about 40+ years ago. Edgett st.? Doesn't have enough clearance for a railroad, so it was probably just for road traffic from day 1.

Another observation - As I look at it I notice tho it appears to have a low clearance for being over the canal unless just an illusion.? The other Fixed bridges over the canal have pretty high clearances for traffic .
Nice they kept it for the trailway.

There's probably a water main running under the roadbed. It looks too well maintained for just a bike/pedestrian crossing.
