Let's rule out Patchogue which started my inquiry! It's a Brainerd photo c. 1885

Awww, come on. There were dinosaurs and woolly mammoths around then.

is it the Reeves farm approx 3 miles east of riverhead. There are still homemade 'look out for trains' signs there today

What is the cross street location of Reeves Farm? Thanks.

Passing siding to the south (if we are looking east) of the Main, crossing just west thereof leading uphill to buildings I guess might still be there. Station in between. Don't know the area other than what I have seen from the cab. Just a crapshoot, but I like the farm idea too.

Can't be east of Port Jeff because that extension opened in 1895. Brainerd was dead by then (d. 1887)
Second, it can't be one of the two experimental farms as they both opened in 1905. . . 20 years after Brainerd's photo.
