These auto racks heading east to Saint John are empty, no? And they are to be loaded at CP's Saint John auto compound with Hyundais / Kias being imported to Atlantic Canada, correct? I don't see any Canadian vehicle assembly plants for either Hyundai or Kia so I'm guessing no Canadian assembled cars are to exported at the Port of Saint John?

There is no auto terminal at the port of Saint John, nor are there plans for one. Believe it or not the port of SJ doesn't have the landside space for an auto terminal.

I believe these racks are coming east loaded with cars for domestic distribution in eastern Canada.

While there presently is not an auto terminal at the port, CP's web site states a willingness to construct a facility at the port of Saint John for the import/export of autos via Ro Ro vessels. Other east coast ports like Halifax, Davisville, NY/NJ, Baltimore, Charleston and Savannah do a thriving vehicle import/export business. Ro Ro vessels even call on the port of Boston occasionally for vehicle import (despite the port of Boston having ZERO rail service at this point).

They are putting in a RoRo berth as part of the port upgrade and modernization plan with full auto export capability.

There would be a lot more room dockside if the scrap metal operation gets relocated from the prime real estate on the container pier

12 racks on the tail of tonight's 250, with 7030 leading through Lennoxville at 19:47.

Happened by Northern Maine Junction late this afternoon and spotted CP 3100-3051-2266 southbound
sitting north of the Rt2 overpass. Also present south of the overpass was CP SD40 6024. Both tracks over
the east overpass were full of cars and also two cuts of cars visible from the Cold Brook Rd crossing. The
Panam side of the yard, in contrast, looked dead and decaying with a short cut of 5 interchange cars and
elsewhere in the yard were flatcars loaded with tank cars and their detached trucks, possibly the remains
of the derailment several months ago.

Those four units came down as F16 with over 100 cars, second day in a row they had that many.

Were most of those 100 cars for Pan Am? Can’t imagine CP has that much local business around Hermon.

82 of Tuesday's 109 were for Pan Am, per the OP.

So either: pan am/csx are getting more of the Irving traffic or CP is taking some of csx’s Maine mill traffic away from the Worcester/Ayer route
