My question to all of you train crew members is. Does always pressing the alerter reset button annoy the heck out of you?

No, not really, better than standing on the deadman i would say. Some units are worse than others, the older SD 70's act up a bit more then most. The only time it gets old is when your in the 8th run grinding up the hill, but there aint nothing else to do, but sit there and push the button then anyways.

Isn't that right, Dutch!
You can make a game of it too. Try to reset the damn thing before the warbling sounds starts. Or let it go for a few seconds to keep the conductor up.
