Was Amtrak doing Christmas extras with MARC equipment, or did MARC just use an Amtrak locomotive?

MARC uses two or perhaps three Amtrak ACS-64 locomotives.

I'm not sure when the last time they ran extras for Christmas or New Year's was, regardless of the day.

Observed #3(26) with a "hefty" consist; Two P-42, Bagg, Four Sleepers, Diner, Lounge, Four Coaches.

What is unknown to me is how many of those cars were in service for today's departure. On the rear was a 350XX, Snack Coach, which could well have been DH.

Is that the biggest you've ever seen for the Southwest Chief?

The latter while they're getting the HHP-8's rehab'ed. They also park train sets at Penn on the freight track and tracks 2/3 for overnight/weekend storage.

No MARC service on those days. I didn't see Amtrak add service this year.

Where are Amtrak's Thanksgiving ridership figures ?
