Dont know the make or model, but the USS Higbee, Gearing class destroyer, had a steam whistle mounted. Not official USN equipment! It was mounted on the port side near the door going below decks to the galley. It was mounted on an auxillary steam fitting on the main deck. It was only mounted only dering unrep and blown during breakaway when unrep was done

No, she was a Westpac ship, but we knew about the whistle.
