Evidently the miners of the Blackjewel Coal operation that went dark overnight idling 2 powder river mines and a couple of mines in eastern Kentucky have taken to blockading the tracks to keep a train of stockpiled coal from leaving until they get their back pay,

Has this standoff ended? or did CSX pull the power off and left that unit train behind?

An article in Trains Magazine's newswire as of August 16th said that the miners where sill on strike.

Fair use:
They have vowed to not let the train leave until they are paid for the work they have already performed, although they did allow CSX to retrieve the locomotives which pulled the train.

The miners were laid off, not out on strike. The coal train was still blocked in as of yesterday.

The mining company went Bankrupt, then shut down operations,No notice/lockout.
Last "Paychecks" bounced, hence the blockade of the mine's trackage.

Blackjewel is now on the auction block.
