Trains on CSX St. Lawrence Sub (CR's Montreal Secondary)

I noticed a very new looking CN come down in the afternoon on Easter, too. Was a little surprised, one came down, one went up.

Yesterdays southbound consisted of a CSX loco leading with the second unit being a CN "blue colored locomotive Illinois Central IC C40-8W" was quite the surprise to see and a nice long train as well. Went through Pulaski around 1930.

Northbound just started up with BNSF 7071 trailing a CSX unit.

Today’s trains consisted of a csx loco with a Canadian pacific loco northbound and southbound was a csx loco with a Canadian National loco.

Is CSX still shopping the Montreal Secondary line?

According to ShipCSX Intermodal schedules, CSX is still shipping with a very leisurely schedule international and domestic containers from Valleyfield, PQ to Chicago, Philly, and Port of New Jersey via B763 - Q621(?) to Dewitt for connection to Q162 (to Elizabeth NJ), Q163 (to Bedford Park, IL), or Q158 (to N Kearney NJ and Philadelphia, PA). And vice versa to Valleyfield.

I haven't heard that they're not, but a lot of things quietly changed after EHH passed.

I wonder if they'll do redoing any grade crossings in the North Country this summer. A lot of them are getting pretty rough. The crossing timbers on the Pine Street crossing in Potsdam for instance are almost completely disintegrated in the left turn lane onto the bypass.

The Crossing in Adams Center at route 177 is pretty rough. One of the concrete panles had come out and been out for over 6 months, have to drive on the shoulder.

From what I've heard, they still are. Time will tell.

Southbound has been stopped at MP 3 for a while, came in slow like maybe he had air issues. Wonder if they hit any trees with the storms that just blew through. Or maybe they're stopped for one.

Stopped for one or two, trees down on the main also.

CSX has a crew on site working already. One great big one down across the track just shy of the actual milepost, some smaller ones a tenth or so north. County has a lane of the parkway blocked off too.

Sounds like they're going to pull down to 291 as of 6:43 pm

Does this neat little building at the Watertown fairgrounds have some rail heritage? Never really paid attention to it until the other day, despite having passed by it many times over 35+ years.

Wondering if perhaps it had some connection to the streetcar line to Dexter?

Saw something new today; train going up had at the rear a four unit well car, 48 ft wells, heavily graffiti'ed with what looked like trash containers in it, one level high. Used to seeing those on special flat cars.
