Watching Atlanta Falcons game, in Atlanta - hearing what sounds like at ultra loud railroad horn. Is it?

Yes it is, and it is loud. Outside the stadium, it's actually louder than passing trains (which pass by a few hundred feet away).

It's used for multiple things during Falcons games (kickoffs, scores, 3rd downs, etc), and for kickoff, goals, and end of match for Atlanta United.

In the stadium, it's mounted atop the concrete pillar that's behind Molly B's, the restaurant just inside the Gate 2 entrance.

Didn't do the Falcons much good last Sunday.

Nope, the soccer team has definitely gotten more mileage out of it this season.
