I'm wondering if the NYNH&H and the Walkill Valley Railroad (or whatever it was called at the time) ever connected anywhere before Campbell Hall, NY / Maybrook?
Looking at some historical maps, they looked to have come within a short distance between each other in several places in Ulster County.

Thanks,
Rob

No they never did, they might have appeared to be close but it was somewhat deceiving and in some cases one line would be on higher ground than the other as well.

Also FYI, Walkill Valley RR did not go to Campbell Hall, it ended at Clinton St. in Montgomery. From there to Campbell Hall was the Montgomery & Erie Ry. Co. (Erie's Montgomery Branch).
