On Memorial Day Weekend and the weekend prior to July 4th, steam locomotive #18 will be turned on the Arcade wye for excursion to Curriers Depot and Return. This will be the first time in the history of passenger excursion on the A&A that a steam locomotive will make the trip to Curriers in reverse!

it was a good time. 18 struggled to get out of Currier's Saturday afternoon. lots of spinning. Rumor has it that there are only 20-23 operating days left on 18"s 1472. so ride if you get a chance!

Can someone with ARA connections clarify the July 8th Veteran's Benefit ride? The day before and day after are specified as steam engine trips. Is the Saturday trip diesel powered?

18 is no where near close to it's service days. As long as no major issues that come up, she is ready to run for the next several seasons.

I do believe that the veterans benefit train will be steam. The only planned diesel trips are murder mystery or wine/beer taster specials and a diesel days weekend that will feature 111, 112 and 113. This is the first weekend in August and will also feature WWII reanactors roo.

Thank you Pat! I might be there for that military benefit - I have a friend who is a WWII veteran, had 40-some years on the railroad - and that is his 91st birthday.
