Rail Fest '96/'97 in Hyannis

On another website I saw pictures of the Rail Fest in 1996 and 1997 in Hyannis. Mix of equipment with some unique consists from the Cape Cod Railroad and MBTA. What were the details of these events? How did they come about and why only two years? Did trains go down to the Cape with passengers?

I seem to recall that one of the magazines did a feature abour thos interesting event but I am not sure just which one it was. There was equipment from a number of railroads. I am surprised that there hasn't been much response from this.

They did run excursions out of Hyannis to the canal...
