Many years ago, when I was touring Portugal, a passerby I was talking to told me that Romanian sounds like Portugese, but gibberish, with no Portugese meaning. That "Politia de Frontiera" fooled me; at first glance I thought it was Spanish.
The language is Romanian.

I have lots of memories of Romania in the 1990's. Dracula castles , buying cheese on mountain roads, and riots and tear gas (the only time I have felt the effects of tear gas , it wafted down into the underground metro I was riding)
