NJT Rail is a big Bombardier customer. Here's an article from Railways Africa about Bombardier. (There has been some criticism of Railways Africa.)

Definitely a lot of weasel words in that article, which reads like a press release. Optimizing the workforce, i.e. laying folks off. "De-risking our business last year". And of course the taking of special charges should be a red flag for any investors.

Why has railways africa been controversial?

Something about it not originating its stories, among other things. Somebody posted the waring a year or so ago when I first started using its material. It's on the world wide forum somewhere.

Be highly cautious quoting Railways Africa as a credible source

It is run on a shoestring, a lot of its "news" is what Rollo Dickson discovers surfing the net and from social media

In a country that policed copyright infringement (like obtaining permission from copyright owners prior use of material), it would not survive

However it is about the only publication continuously disseminating African railway happenings. Just treat with extreme caution

For things South African this monthly online magazine has recently launched http://issuu.com/southafricanrailwaynew" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ... gust_2015_
