Adding to the awful things that have befallen other NJ-based rail history groups of late, Whippany Railway Museum has become the latest (thankfully on a far less smaller scale) to share some bad news.
Within the last 24 hours or so, a cast iron "DERAIL" warning sign that has been displayed outdoors for the last 50 years has been stolen... wooden post and all. A photo is attached of the sign, which bears some markings, distinctive to only this particular sign.
