Thanks Scot....I spent the afternoon Tuesday walking the old Auburn Road from Phillips Road to the LV trestle and then I walked up onto the LV Main to the RS&E abutments that were easily visible with bare trees. It felt kind of weird walking on the elevated ROW for 0.5 mile being up so far from the farmland below.

Why is the LV ROW elevated for such a long distance away from the LV trestle?

The LV ROW was no doubt elevated in order to maintain as level as possible a gradient on the approaches to the NYC Auburn Branch overpass.

The Rochester & Sodus Bay used the Glen Haven line to get out of the city. The bridge underneath the Hojack is just a little bit east of Barclay Road south of NY-104. It's still there and visible even though OMID has been trying to fill it.
