And the station is open! Three years (Pennsauken) since NJT opened a completely new station, and eight (Wayne Route 23, Mount Arlington) since one with commuter service to NYC opened.

And also would have thought at that point, we'd have 0 of the following
•No additional Penn Station capacity
•No MOM
•No Northern Branch
•No New Portal Bridge
Gotta love the jaded priorities that make our home Jersey.

It was a long time ago, but NJT and local polticos made it seem like HBLR to Vince Lombardi Park N' Ride (which will never happen now) was a certainty.Hawaiitiki wrote:15-20 years ago, who would have thought NJ Transit would have an 2nd station in the metropolis of Wood-Ridge bordering quiet residential streets and a brownfield, a Pennsauken Transit Center in an equally trafficked area, and a nearly useless Newark Light Rail Extension (Broad Street) all three combined that will likely ended up serving less than 2000 people a day and cost a combined $265 million just to build, not including operation.2 and 3 are not priorities. 1 and 4 are important, but you know how much money they will cost.
