I was going to be clever and ask what Metro's Smoking Car Policy was, but this actually isn't funny:

DC Metro Train Smoking at Silver Spring Station

Yesterday, a video was taken of a DC Metro Train leaking smoke from the bottom of one of the cars.
This gives us another confirmation that the Metro Shutdown may just be a much necessary sacrifice.

From the looks of the soot around the door, that car has been smoking for a while.
