I might be making a trip to Chicago in Feb. If you buy a pass is it valid for the higher $5 fare at ORD?

Yup, passes work fine at ORD.

I can be worthwhile to buy your pass from CTA on the web before you leave home. Sometimes the line at fare machines in he airport can get longggggg. If you already have a ventra card you can purchase your pass 100% online. They can mail you a preloaded card if you dont have one.
