SLC 274 was brought up to Rochester today. It will get a once over at Rochester before heading north. 301 MAY be leaving with it by the end of the week.

Is 418 still on the work train?

As of yesterday, 418 and 293 were on the power wash train, and 310 was in getting traction motor work, 330 is also out of the lineup for routine maintenance.

Curious, what is the route it takes up to Rochester and how long does it take?
  by Mass Coastal 2010

There is only one route to and from Rochester. Its the Cape Main. From Hyannis to Rochester its about one hour and 15 minutes. From Boston its about the same length of time.

That was the one that had the cab fire during its debut week of service. It sustained some not-insignificant damage. Not sure why it hasn't been returned off-lease, since they don't have anything to gain by sinking elbow grease into a substantial repair job when it's just a disposable rent-a-wreck.

The one with the cab fire was the 274, which went to the Cape and is now sitting in Rochester collecting dust. The 418 is out for an unknown reason.
