According to published reports including an announcement on The NC Transportation museum's website, Jim Wilson's NY & Greenwood Lake RY owned Erie E8 # 833 is joining 24 other cab units at Spencer NC for a streamliners festival the last weekend in May.
The Erie #833 E8 marks the final “cab count” announcement for this massive event. The unit will make its way to Spencer, appearing alongside 24 other classic streamliners for a four-day event full of photography, history, railroading and fun.
Hopefully we will get details on her move from Port Jervis.

Is 833 still on the Port Jervis turntable and is it operable ?

The two recreated LACKAWANNA F3's that hang out in Scranton are reported to be going to Spencer as well. Have no clue on the routing but, based on how the ELDCPS Diners were delivered via NS to Scranton, is it realistic that 833 will be ferried to Binghamton and then down to Scranton to join up with the F3's ? The D-L could then take all 3 units down the ex-DL&W Main to interchange with NS at Slateford, Pa. and from there South in a couple days to North Carolina.

Whatever, should be multiple opportunities for great photos up and down the East coast.

She was moved onto the old Erie turntable under her own power in July, 2007. I don't know that she has been moved or started up since. I can't speculate on the route to NC and back but there should be some great pictures forthcoming on the journey and of all the other streamliners participating in this event. Too bad I can't make it down there.

ERIE E8A #833 is reportedly scheduled to meet-up with the recreated LACKAWANNA F3's #663 & #664 - PLUS the just painted B unit #664B - in Allentown later today. They, along with several other units, will be ferried as it's own train by an NS wide cab from Allentown/Harrisburg down to North Carolina later this week.

Obviously, photo opportunities abound !

Hope NS has the sense to put a heritage unit up front.
