Sounds like a lot of money to spend for what you get, but it's certainly a clever idea.

Did anyone else notice that the end of the critter's long hood is nearly identical to the nose of CSX's SD40-3 rebuilds?

I'm pretty sure that is the new company founded by Frank Donnely, who founded Railpower and designed the Green Goat and Genset models.
He holds a patent for reusing SD series locomotive components to build industrial "critters":

This could be a good way to reuse old C30-7 trucks, and their reliable GE traction motors.
