Boston.com is reporting a fatal train collision near Chester, MA, with absolutely zero other information: http://boston.com/news/local/massachuse ... story.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Anyone know what happened? I presume it was a CSX train, based on location, but did it strike a vehicle or a trespasser? Or another train?

from this I gather it was trespasser incident.

Yes, it was a pedestrian versus train collision. Was it a trespasser? Lower Prospect Street crosses the tracks at the site of the incident so one can legally cross the tracks there. A safer assumption would be that it was a suicide, as the vast majority of pedestrian-train incidents are suicides. There are fewer moving objects on the planet whose future position can be determined with such accuracy and ease as that of a train.

Lower Prospect is an undergrade bridge, there is no crossing there. So he was a trespasser.

Thank you for the correction 9axle. I guess that would make suicide an even more compelling manner of death.

lets not jump the gun here, yes most accidents that involve people vs. train are indeed suicide, but this could have been an "accident" sort to speak...headphones on while walking the tracks, etc...trespassing is no joke, stay off the tracks people
