Again with this stuff. How does having a system that keeps two trains from coming into contact with one another "solve nothing" when that is the precise problem the system looks to solve?

Again with this stuff. It doesn't work. PTC means "positive train control", in other words it will slow/stop the train even if the engineer fails to do so in the appropriate situation. There are quite a few documented cases where there has been nothing that met the technical definition of "positive" in positive train control. In at least one of those cases people were hurt and the train shot off the tracks.
