Here are a pair of photo albums by me that take you from 46th Street to the Princess Depot in Minnehaha Park, Minneapolis, along the ex-Milwaukee Road line that once crossed below Fort Snelling but now ends at the Princess:

Album one:

I really liked your Milwaukee Road SE Mpls photo albums. I was in this exact area just days after you (April 6) photographing the line from the Princess to just North of Lake St.
There used to be a 'wig wag' where the track crossed the parkway and that switch served a lumber yard. My mother worked at the Parkway Diner (now the red, white and blue Bridgemans at this location) back in the early sixties, the totem pole sign is laying beside the building to this day! I remember watching SP 4449 pull The American Freedom Train into Minnehaha park in the 1970's, it's hard to believe this was once the main line. if your'e interested in seeing historic aerial photography of the rail lines in this area, follow the instructions at this link. http://map.lib.umn.edu/mhapo/
I you like current detailed aerial photos of rail sites I recommend http://www.bing.com/maps/ click the "birdseye" tab. i have include some photos in this Dropbox link
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/2gaczdcv4bcqqh0/opDCxv_JQu that may show some of the last freight cars South of 46th.
