In Port Jervis Yard, just northwest of the turntable there are two concrete walls perpendicular to the tracks on the hillside near main street. It appears that a track ran across the top of them. What were they used for?

What were they used for? That was the lower end of the inclined conveyer that fed coal to the top of the huge six-chamber concrete coaling tower, that sat next to the fuel rack. (The tower remains were demolished when the Main Street bridge was rebuilt, about ten years ago.)
