Hi;
Just curious;
Since the power plant at Thompkins Cove (Stony Point) has been torn down, the old coal siding remains. Is that siding still being used for anything?
Wouldn't it make sense for the siding from CP33 to CP35 be extended to approx MP 37 at the north end of that old coal siding?

Rail was replaced in the fall, construction to start again in spring.

So this will extend the passing track from CP33 to approx mp 37, pretty much doubling its length. I like what CSX is doing; upgrades Conrail never got around to, or never had the money for.
Longer trains = better efficienty; both for cost, and environmental.

Same max train size, will make it a double siding like 76-78-80.
