Not sure if this is CP, NS, or NYSW? My thoughts and prayers go out to the crew!

To paraphrase the article:
Mahlon Christopher Mosher, 16, of New Milford, Pa., was killed around 8:15 a.m. Tuesday when hit by a train while walking north along railroad tracks that paralle Route 11 to Blue Ridge High School
Here is the Article, spelling mistake and all.

Late 1960s, doing a cab ride on the Sunday morning train from Grand Central Terminal, New York, to Pittsfield, Mass. on the New Haven Railroad (railfans could get cab rides back then). We're pulling in to the passenger stop at New Milford, Conn. Two FL-9s pulling abut five cars. Crossing lights are working, gates come down. Engineer has activated the engine's bell and blew the required grade crossing warning (Hancock air whistles). As we're pulling into the crossing, preparing for the station stop on the other side of the crossing, here comes Bozo, nose buried in a book, oblivious to everything else except the ground immediately in front of his feet. The engineer is giving short blasts on the train's whistle. Could we have stopped in time? Maybe. Maybe not. At the very, very last minute Bozo looks up. "Oh!" We cleared him by maybe two feet.

Stupid people are out there.

Very true, Mr. Statkowski........fast forward to today, only Bozo's grand-son is walking
and texting with his cell phone instead of the book.

Some things don't change at all!
