Word around the property is that LIRR will be using a few NYAR engines on their work trains this weekend for concrete tie replacement on the Mainline between Hillside and Queens. There are 4 work trains on starting tonight (Friday 11/30) and 4 every 12 hours throughout Monday morning. Reason is LIRR being short work engines. Keep an eye out for GP38s pulling the Canac tie train!

I don't believe NYA engines will be on the Canac, they will be on the Amtrak/Lirr work train in Harold, starting tonight. NYA crews, Lirr pilots. 106 and 2081 will be the power. Get your super rare photos!

Passing by on the Cross Island Parkway after midnight last night, the Belmont terminal was an MP-15ac hangout. Three pairs were there, one on the trestle over the C.I.P., another on the east leg of the wye right by the Main Line and the other back in the Belmont station itself.

The 2081 and 106 were on the Long Island City work train Friday night. As of Saturday night the 268 and 155 were on the Long Island freight track in Harold with gondolas in tow loading up contaminated soil. They will be there Sunday too.

Happened across 268/155 in LIC coach yard. Are they going to be doing this work again next weekend? Looked like a big project.

LIRR 163 & 100 were sitting nearby idling.

Too bad it was so foggy this morning, would have made a better shot with the city visible in the background like it usually is...
