That's a nice shot because you can see the road gradient. It's where Powell crosses California St. California is superior. Powell is inferior, so it's a "let go" before crossing California to allow the car's grip to clear the California cable. The Gripman let go too soon without having enough inertia to glide accross California to grab the cable again on the north side of the intersection. You didn't hear it then, but I'll bet he got some ribbing back in the barn later that day for this one !
