That's a nice shot because you can see the road gradient. It's where Powell crosses California St. California is superior. Powell is inferior, so it's a "let go" before crossing California to allow the car's grip to clear the California cable. The Gripman let go too soon without having enough inertia to glide accross California to grab the cable again on the north side of the intersection. You didn't hear it then, but I'll bet he got some ribbing back in the barn later that day for this one ! :-D

That is way too long to lie fallow.
The images I share here are- first, the full-size image of my current avatar, taken at the BNSF Cicero Station on 26 May 2018; second, a freight passing through the BNSF Lisle station on 22 February 2020.
Then, a bunch of images, typically described as 'scarcitecture', of the now discontinued BNSF Lumber District (formerly the Central Illinois Railroad Company) along Cermak Road in Chicago on 24 June 2017.
