Very sad -- I had known the instructor for many years and had myself done teaching in that plane. It had always seemed to me that the southbound departure offered more options than northbound, which just has a lot of trees. I always thought Speeder Road offered an off-airport options, or just go in parallel to the rails. Time for a lot of soul-searching.

That's unfortunate.......my heart goes out to the families and friends of the deceased.

IIRC, there was a similar incident about 20 - 25 years ago.

Report several weeks ago indicated the cause was engine failure.
