So, does anybody know what's going on with that long cut of cars on the siding at the oxbow just north of the coal plant? Looks to be Sullivan scrap loads and and a bunch of other cars either from a PL-1 or ED-2 move. They've been there for just about 3 weeks now I think. I know things move pretty slow on the system as a whole, even more so on the Conn River, but this seems a little excessive? I've often wondered how business on this line manages to get by with the service (or lack there of) they get?

I drive by weekly and have noticed the same string of cars on the siding north of the plant. Last night just a bit more north just past the I91 overpass, both tracks now had lengthy cuts of cars with more Sullivan's and what appeared be to propane or tanks ( couldn't see clearly due to the light and the other cars ). Possibly a PL-1. I quickly looked but did not see any power but it might have been around somewhere.

A northbound train is sitting canned at Riverside in Holyoke ( PLED? ) Must be pulling extra tonnage than normal - a three engine lashup.

My SWAG... I believe that PAS will occasionally (much to the dismay of CSOR) interchange with the CNZR (Central New England) in Hartford at the Hartford Lumber siding. That car could be headed to the Home Depot warehouse in Bloomfield on the CNZR Griffin Line. It has been done in the past, but I have not heard much in activity in quite awhile. But I could be wrong.

Thanks....the GRS Yahoo group did say that CNZR was expecting a car on EDPL.

But I was actually referring to the *other* car on that 2-car train. If you skip ahead to the end of the video, you'll see a 3-truck, articulated spine car with about 6 sealed containers on it. I've never seen a car like that on this train and am wondering what it was.

Not sure if there's a better thread for this tidbit, but apparently PanAm is considering building a propane distribution depot in Waterbury at the wye with the Watertown branch on Thomaston Avenue.

Better late than never - it's an ABC Car, stands for Articulated Bulk Container.

Relatedly, there's a propane depot already under construction at the industrial site just west of the Terryville Tunnel. I believe there was some discussion in the "Conn River Line" thread.
