We are planning a rail trip for next year from Pt. Pleasant to Atlanta. Our question is navigating and the transfer from the North Jersey Coast Line to Amtrak. Does anyone here know where we can find a floor plan of the station? Also we are seniors and have trouble with stairs, so elevators will be needed.

Go to Google Maps, search for Newark, NJ Penn Station, and zoom in on the station. There is a simple diagram with tracks by number and icons showing escalators and elevators.

Trains from the Coast normally arrive on Track 1, sometimes 2; Amtrak to the south and west leaves from 3 and 4. Connecting with the Crescent, at midday, shouldn't be hectic.

For many years I wished for this information to be available online but it wasn't. Thankfully a year or so ago, it finally showed up on the redesigned site.

To find it yourself, on the home page, hold your mouse over "Maps" in the main navigation menu across the top, then choose Newark Penn Station from the list.

Thanks Paul. I haven't been in that station since about 1971 and then (1967-1971) only to change to PATH from CNJ or PRR. Cross platform transfers.

Every track has elevator and escalator (up only) access, it is an easy station to navigate.
