ATHOL, Mass. (WWLP) – Local, state and railroad police were investigating a freight train accident in Athol, Tuesday morning, after a man was killed on the tracks.

According to Mary Carey of the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office, around 10:50 a.m. Tuesday, Pan Am Railroad Dispatch informed Winchendon Dispatch about a man who appeared to have been hit by a freight train in Athol.
