Which ofthe nyc subway cars have the passenger intercom system where riders can use to talk to conductor/motorman in case of emergency?

I know the R142 has them, I'm not sure what other models have them.

I don't think any of the others (except the R142 and R160) have that feature.

Only the R142, R142A, R 143 and R160 cars are equipped with a passenger intercom.

It is safe to say that it will be standard equipment for all new cars.

I recall there was a test of some sort on some R42s on the J line but it didn't work.

Ten R42 cars had a pilot test program in 1995 but was later removed due to false alarms and poor performance.

The R110 test models of the mid-1990s also had passenger intercom systems.

By "false alarms" do you mean that the system malfunctioned, or that people unnecessarily used the system for non-emergencies?
