I'm wondering if anyone out there knows of a museum or tourist railroad that still uses steam to heat the passenger cars.
I would also like to know af any working examples of Baker heaters being used. How about coal stoves?
Do any of the cold weather operators like the Durango & Silverton heat their cars or do the passengers just have to bundle up?

Steamtown still has steam heat. I rode an excursion there at the end of the season three or so years ago and the cars were quite warm. There was a slightly leaky pipe that made for a great photo of steam escaping from the underside of one of the cars. As for a coal stove I was told that the Vermont Railway used to use theirs until recently in an old Rutland wooden car.

I'm glad to hear there is at least one place still using steam.
Just like a freight train does'nt look right without a caboose , a passenger train does'nt look quite right without a little steam coming out from under the cars.
