MEC 610 has been sold to GATX and is on tonight’s WAPO. GP15-1 406 departed this morning.

Per a report on Facebook GATX GP40's 3051 and 3052 are headed to Pan Am, atleast one is exMEC 347.

I probably missed it somewhere byt are all the ex-CSX locos being repainted/re-labeled as MEC vs B&M or D&H? How come?

All painted and unpainted GE's are lettered for MEC.
There are five (5) GP40s (300 series) with BM reporting marks.
All other PAR locos are lettered for the MEC. The two OCS
units are lettered as PAR. However, that is not a registered
reporting mark.

PAR 1 and 2 are MEC units.

Regarding the units being assigned to the Maine Central versus B&M or D&H: Pan Am has no affiliation with the D&H and therefore can't use those reporting marks, and the speculated reason for MEC vs BM is because of cheaper taxes in Maine (where the Maine Central is based) versus Massachusetts, where the B&M is based.

If you are referring to the GE's, I believe PAR has purchased those.

They were purchased outright, financed through "BMO Harris Equipment Finance Company, some retroactively, as the units listed on the final page as MEC are also in a previous recordation with GE listed as the lender. Though its not in the recordation, I heard the initial group of C40's was purchased for around 200K/unit, and following orders for a percentage less as they opted not to purchase warranty and GE technical service which saved pretty substantial coin.

STB recordation for 24 of the GE's its not all of them, but a good chunk anyway. More may show up, as STB seems rather slow to post recordations...

Assets and property are largely still held by the individual railroads. Like NS and the NW/SOU. No need to go through the trouble of a $0 sale.

Still registered under the 1862 charter in Maine by the way.

I was wondering about tax implications on that equipment. For example in Maine there might be business equipment taxes in the municipality in which the equipment is considered to "reside".

That would be very hard to deduce, with engines constantly crossing state lines and whatnot.
