The irony there is that ST DOBO/BODO crews had that exact same issue years ago with the NHN GP9s, which was part of the impetus for NHN buying the GP38-2s.

This is nothing new. Back in 80's, on occasion, some new CP locos showed up on the coal
trains. After one new CP loco showed up back out west with not only its light bulbs missing,
but also its brand new seats, CP sent a foreman along for the ride to "guard" the new locos.

Well, I said bulbs, but sometimes its more complicated. A couple years ago, crew at Northern Maine called a maintainer for headlight bulbs on 381, ditch lights were operable...He showed up, put in new bulbs and got nadda. They did a power swap and an electrician had to go through it to find a broken wire somewhere between the switch and the headlight. And sometimes its a matter of a maintainer not being available to replace bulbs. If you're the second call to the maintainer its gonna be a long wait, just power swap it and run.

But yeah, they used to steal bulbs outta foreign power, they were smart about it though, only taking bulbs off the middle unit of a 3 pack so they wouldn't screw themselves. lol...

Surprised no one has said anything about the 615 being painted yet, as it's been out on the road for a couple days now. Now all the SD40s are painted.

So why did you wait a couple of days to tell us?

Nice photo! Looks good.

I sort of assumed one of the Mcswiggins would post a shot of it on nerail or something. But anyway, that was the debut trip, it doesn't look too bad from a distance, but up close it's a bit rough looking.

Well then, you took a nice picture because it sure looks nice from the photo.

Thanks for posting it,
Stephen
