old erie main in southertier of NY

my son (4yrs) and i are going trainwatching in wyoming county along the NS main probably near silver springs where the rochester and southern comes in. any suggestions on places to watch from? how many trains a day come through there ? what frequency do they use in that area?

There is a parking lot in Silver Springs on Railroad Ave near the Post Office that gives a good view.

NS frequency 161.070
R&S frequency 160.770

I have not been there recently so I don't know about best times for activity.
