Does Norfolk Southern receive Bakken oil trains from either BNSF or the Soo Line? Would NS try to bid on transporting oil to Irving Oil's refinery in Saint John, New Brunswick that currently is handled by CSXT?

If anything, I would say Soo Line, as the trains come down the Southern Tier Line with Canadian Pacific power.

NS receives Oil Trains from both CP and BNSF. BNSF hands the trains off in Chicago, but CP since it can hands the trains off in Harrisburg, PA from its D&H subsidiary, the trains on CP run via the Southern Tier. The trains from both BNSF and CP are destined for Westville, NJ across from Philadelphia. The loaded train from BNSF carries NS symbol 64D, while the loaded CP originated train carries NS symbol 64Z.

Does CP run an oil train via NS to New Castle, DE also? What routing does it take to get there?

NS 64N runs to Delaware City near New Castle via Edgemoor yard. It's all NS power on those trains.....

Maybe a little off subject.

I've noticed new ties along the tracks from Washington St. in New Castle to Bear Corbitt Rd. in Bear Delaware. Time for improvements with all the increased rail traffic expected.

Also at Porter NS has installed a new diamond to facilitate trains coming from Newark to the Delaware City refinery. In the past, if a train came from Newark, it would have to go North, then reverse direction to the refinery.
