Of which we all are saddened...

CHESTER A. HAAK

LIVONIA — Chester A. Haak of Livonia, was born March 9, 1915. On Sunday (May 27, 2007) after a long and courageous battle with numerous physical challenges, Mr. Haak passed away with family and compassionate caregivers from Home Care and Hospice of Western New York and Wellsville Manor Care Center at his bedside.

Chet, began his financial career with Bonbright and Company, but is best known for his various positions with Security Trust and Company.

Throughout his life and his 32 years in baking, Mr. Haak established lifelong friendships.

Until his death, he amazed us all with his remarkable memory and recall. Perhaps he will be remembered best for his quick wit, often used to soften his forthright, honest, delivery.

As a true community activist, he spearheaded funding for the formation of the Livonia Little League, was Treasurer of the Hemlock Fair, served the Zion Episcopal Church, delivered Meals-on-Wheels, was Chairman of the Livonia Republican Committee, was President of the Livonia Rotary and the Finger Lakes Association, and parishioner of St. Matthew’s Catholic Church. His most exciting venture was the development and success of the LA and L (Livonia, Avon, and Lakeville) Railroad. Most recently he served as Treasurer of the Resident Council at the Wellsville Manor Care Center.

It is with deepest regards to Mr. Haak's family and friends that we all have been saddened with this loss. God Bless.
