The other day I had a NS haulage train. One of the units in my consist was a former Oakway. Most have the HT-C trucks. This particular unit had steerable trucks. When and why was this unit retrucked?

That would be the GMTX #9041, which is originally EMD #3, one of the demonstator SD60's. EMD #3 was retrofitted with HTC-R trucks many years ago to test the new design prior to them being installed on the 4 SD60MAC demo units. EMD #3 was traded for the original Oakway #9041 for test purposes and remains with EMD today, Former EMD #3 was renumbered as GMTX #9041 after it was returned to the leasor a couple years ago. This is the only SD60 to have HTC-R radial trucks.

Thanks! I had heard that EMD 3 had the radial trucks. I never knew that it was traded into the Oakway fleet.
