Is it known what affect this will have on the Cross Harbour railyard? It would be a shame to see rail traffic along 1st Avenue take a beating so soon after having new tracks go in with a refurbishment of the 39th Street yard.

Traffic on 1st Ave will be down. Just local traffic in the yard, and whenever SBMT opens..or the float bridges break and they need to use 51st.

All part of the plan..

From the looks of things, there is a carfloat at the transfer bridge and the team tracks are being used. Bush Terminal was empty (except for the NS boxcar that's been there for years)
Great coverage, the floatbridge and barge look fresh.

I guess Bush Terminal will be of no use now?
