I heard that the NYSW 142 suffered some sort of damage during its last weekend on the Bel-Del? Did anyone else hear anything about this?

No damage has occurred to the 142 to the best of my knowledge. I was up there yesterday and it was running fine.

A couple of weeks ago, it did suffer a mechanical failure and was o/s that weekend. It was running the very next weekend.

It is coming due for a 90 day inspection before its trip to Westfield.

The 142 had a cylinder head problem. It has metric fittings.
Metric and parts require a bit more searching to acquire.

I heard there was a problem with the cylinder heads and possibly there was some damage to the driving rods too... but if it is not as severe as I had heard, then that means that 142 should be rolling closer to Binghamton every day now...

The problem with the cylinder was about mid August. Before Bingo we have to get through Westfield first, Oct 2 and 3rd.
