Interesting article. A 100-year old bridge was slated for replacement / repair starting next Monday.

Yes, our bridges are in bad shape, so NJ jacks up the road tax 27 cents per gallon of fuel. And where does this new source of (plunderable?) money go? Well, around my town, we're getting new traffic lights and a whole bunch of fancy new mile markers along the highways.

Bridges? What bridges?

Gary, my sentiments exactly. I started noticing this last year when I-195 signs began popping up every 0.2 miles. Rt 9 now has 'em every 0.5 miles. In these times of GPS one has to ask if these signs are necessary.
