From the B&P Yahoo email group:

The Rochester and Southern Ry ran a extra Northbound train this evening
from AMPI in Dansville, NY to Brooks Ave in Rochester, NY. NYSW3618
fresh from overhaul was the sole unit. Currently it is sitting in
Brooks Ave Yard, waiting to be interchanged with the CSXT in Rochester,
NY.

On the flip side, NYSW 120 was dropped by a CSXT W01106 rail train last
night at Rochester, NY. This unit should be interchanged with the RSR
to go down to AMPI for overhaul. This SW9 switcher has friction bearing
trucks and is restricted to 25 MPH. One has to believe that after
overhaul it will have roller bearing trucks on it.

NYSW3618 looks to have its short nose repainted. Look for it to be on
the NYSW by next week sometime!!

3618 arrived in NJ on SU-100 this morrning, Sept 12, behind the 3020 and 3664. It SHOULD lead on the Tues. night SU-99.

Unit was NOT repainted, but the nose was cleaned up a bit, apparently, and the
numbers on the cab sides are still fading away as before. The 120 is
slated to become the shop switcher at Danville and NOT return to the
NYS&W. This was apparently part of the deal for the contract work.
The 3010 is out there now getting work done. No word on rumors of it
coming back painted, but don't be surprised either way. And the 3614
is also on the list of units to get the "Fred's Engine Repair" shop
treatment.

No big loss, on the 120. That was one of the most "slippery" engines, I ever ran. With the sanders running continuously, the thing never did get a grip, on the rail. Now, the 116, that's a whole other story.......
RCB, haven't seen you in a while. Welcome back!!! :-D

116 is in Binghamton right now. 3042 was on the ballast train, and there was a train apparently parked at COLES. I didin't make it to the head end. SU-100 maybe?

I hear there were a few holdups with the latest from 'Al's Motor Parts'... I guess the folks in Dansville are still on a learning curve.
The 3010 could definately use a new coat of paint. I guess we're just lucky it hasn't gone down with a catastrophic engine failure like two of her sisters!
