This question came up over on the "CSX St. Lawrence Div." site. There still exists an old
"wye" track off the south end of the old NYC yard (now CSX) in Massena, NY. I am told by
railroaders that the wye is still used to turn locos ( 2 maximum ), and, that the wye is in
tough shape. Although much of it is now overgrown, this wye apparently was/is quite "long"...
certainly long enough to turn an entire passenger train I am told. Does anyone have any info. or
photos on this? Would this have been a common practice in such a "small" terminal?
Any help would be appreciated.
