RS-30 ran out the stone train eastbound, and picked up empties from Pineaire on the way west before stopping in Hicksville to pick up three more.

Hello, Those are beautiful geep models from 21 March's posting. What brand of model did you start with? I used to live in LI, i miss it mucho. I try and model LIRR during the transition from steam to diesel and also i sneak in a couple C-420's.

A rare morning with 2 RS-30s! Both seen E/B at Divide:

1. 10:36 PJ branch, 261/268 w/3 boxcars,
2. 11:10 KO branch, 271/270 with a 26 car assortment of 5 centerbeams, 6 boxcars, 5 gondolas, 7 hoppers, 3 oilcars.

270/271 was probably the 60.

Yup the 270/271 combo was the RS-60. Due to problems on the railroad the evening before, the RS-50 outlawed in Pond, so the 60 crew was taxied to Pond and left a few minutes after the RS-30.

Well, the RS-100 was really LATE heading back east as I heard it on the Bay Ridge at approximately 2:30 am....only got a few hours sleep, guys. :(

The RS-80 came out to Wyandanch to swich AmeriGas last night around 11pm. They had engine 261 and 155. The 261 crapped out halfway there and they shut the prime mover down, so they were just using it to control the back engine. They spotted 2 cars and picked up 2 empties from the siding. Also caught the RS-51 which had 30 cars. I saw 4 BNSF covered hoppers about mid-train.

Here is the RS-51 through Farmingdale:

6/17 @ Deer Park 9:35pm RS51 (270/271) with mostly boxcars and scrap

6/18 @ Farmingdale 10:30pm RS80 had 2 full centerbeams for Marjam and 3 loads of telephone poles for LILCO (including 3 spacer cars) which were dropped off at Pinelawn. 268 on the head end with 151 and 155 on the rear

and at 10:45pm RS51 with about 10-12 cars (270/271)

The RS-30/31 today at Divide on PJ branch:

E/B 11:15 155/268 w/3 loaded centerbeams and 6 boxcars
W/B 4:50 155/268 w/ 1 empty centerbeam and 4 boxcars

Yesterday, it was the 155/151/268 with only 4 cars, what's the need for 3 engines with fewer cars?

I heard the RS51 call divide around 4:30-5:00. Any news on this weekends stone train?

Are you guys retarded? The RS-50, 30 ect. run everyday! It's no RARE sight! They use the SAME engines and haul the SAME type of cars east and west EVERYDAY! At almost the SAME times even! Maybe you can start an "I saw an MU today" forum next! (WOW, I saw 9211 heading west and.....)

ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? EACH TRAIN IS DIFFERENT. DIFFERENT CARS, DIFFERENT ENGINE NUMBERS IN DIFFERENT DIRECTIONS, DIFFFERENT CONFIGURATION OF THE CARS, ETC.

ONE DAY, THE 159 MIGHT BE IN THE LEAD, WITH THE 268 DEAD. THE NEXT DAY, THE 268 IS IN THE LEAD, AND THE 159 IS DEAD. YOU JUST NEVER KNOW WHAT IS COMING NEXT!

AND YOU ALWAYS HAVE TO GUESS WHEN THE STONE TRAIN IS COMING!!!
