There's a lot in there - probably needs it's own thread.

Not terribly surprised by any of these findings. I'm curious how the proposed traffic light at maspeth ave would work. That intersection is a hot mess during daylight hours. It would help if it gives some advanced indication that a train is in the area (not just at the crossing).

These road improvements that require NYC DOT help will take some time I imagine.

If that is the Freeport team yard the last active costumer was Quality Lineals who took carloads of plastic in early NYA days. I'm not sure if LIRR lays up work trains or track cars there.

Yup. Just wondering what that hopper was doing there ~10 years after they stopped receiving...
Thanks!

This morning at 11:02 AM RS40 went by Queens Village with #300 and #268, in the afternoon RS41 went by at 2:57 PM. Late post, on 10/29 I caught #300 with #151 in Carle Place after 10 AM in the morning with Lumber cars for Kleet and returned westbound at 1:06 PM with box cars. Before it went to Kleet on that same Saturday morning it was serving Belmont Park.

I saw 300 and 301 EB through Bethpage around 1 pm this afternoon. They were pulling a string of hoppers and one boxcar. The boxcar was yellow with what looked like the type of numbers a subway car would have. Anyone else see this or know what it was?

Last Saturday 11/26 #300 was leading RS40/RS41 alone as it was headed up to Kleet as seen in Queens Village at 9:57 AM (eastbound), before 2:30 PM (Westbound). Yesterday afternoon #300 and #301 were seen at 12:25 PM in Queens Village with a mix of cars, red box, stone, a red lumber and C&D cars as it went eastbound.

Yesterday NYA and LIRR had a PTC Braking test train with 3 westbound trips made on the Port Jefferson Branch between Huntington Station and AMOTT Interlocking. The reason for this test run was to determine the proper braking distances that would allow freight/work trains operating on the grades around Huntington to safely comply with Positive Train Control. The power had GP38-2 #271 and MP15AC #155 on the west end and #300 and #301 on the east end with 40 cars, it went by Queens Village in the afternoon at 2:27 PM headed westbound to Fresh Pond.

NYAR eastbound freight through Deer Park just now. Two GP38-2/MP15AC sets on the head end for power and 41 cars.
