NYAR Train Sighting Thread

Hey, who was doing the RS-100 last night (this morning)? I saw you guys and gave generous blasts of the horn as I 'came out of the hole' on the 'N' train. This was around 1:20 am.

Were you making a frieght drop-off on the track closest to the subway portal or is that the pickup track?

10:02 E/B 268/155/151 w/2 hoppers, 2 oilcars, 1 loaded centerbeam
5:00 W/B 151/155/268 w/2 boxcars, 2 hoppers, 4 oilcars

8:44PM - RS51 through Farmingdale 270/271 with about 10 boxcars and 1 centerbeam

9:15PM - RS80 through Farmingdale on the central branch. They picked up 2 covered hoppers from Amco plastics - 268 on the east end with 151/155 west (Pat, good talking to you again... I thought Jason was up there too)

I was, engr on the RS-80 for a couple of days this week and then back home to the RS-30 next week.

2 freight trains E/B through Divide this morning:

11:14 PJ branch, 270/151/155 w/3 boxcrs, 1 centerbeam
11:40 mainline, 268/271 w/ 2 centerbeams, 3 gondolas, 2 boxcars

I saw an NYA train today at Hicksville Yard, or rather, outside it, as I passed under the Charlotte Avenue overpass. Two loaded centerbeam flatcars were visible, but I could'nt see what was on either side of them. This was late in the morning.

RS51 through Farmingdale at 9:38 PM - 271/268 with 17 cars
RS80 is also due to hit the South Shore tonight going as far as Sayville to pick up an empty centerbeam.

The same tripleheaded 270/151/155 on the PJ branch today at Divide:

E/B 9:45 w/1 gondola and 1 flatcar w/steel beams
W/B 1:30 w/1 gondola and 2 boxcars

RS80 eastbound through Hicksville at 9:30 PM - 270/151/155 with 2 boxcars. They were on their way up to get the empty Tilcon cars from Prima.
RS50 westbound 271/268 with about 12 cars. Also 2 BN covered hoppers on the rear.

RS51 through Farmingdale @ 8:40 Engines 270/268 with a lot of JTSX hoppers
RS80 through Farmingdale @ 9:30 Engines 155/159/151 with 4 loaded centerbeams that were spotted on the PW siding.

Pat, I don't know if that was your or JQ that shrieked, but it was hilarious on video

RS51 through Farmingdale 9:40 PM 268/270 with lots of waste from Brookhaven in DJJX (Joseph Transportation) gondolas with white covers strapped on the tops.

RS80 through Farmingdale around 9:25 PM with engines 155, 159, 151 light. They stopped at Farm 2 and then proceeded east to Wyandanch where they picked up 3 boxcars from Island Container.

RS51 westbound through Farmingdale station at 9:40 with engines 270 and 268, light, on track 2. Interesting. I just heard horns, about 11:30PM... not sure if its the 50 returning or 80 coming out.

Today I spotted the 155 working by itself, W/B at Divide at 3:02 w/1 empty centerbeam & 3 boxcars.

The past week all I've seen is the 151/155/159 combination until today. The week before that it was the 270/151/159 combination. What determines the number of engines used on any given day?
